New to Neocate - have a few questions
Hello All,
I am new to this forum. I have a 6 week old baby boy who has just been switched to Neocate. He was on Goodstart for the first 2.5 weeks, then was diagnosed with the cow's milk allergy (blood in stool, reflux, vomiting, fussiness) we then swtiched to Nutramigen for 20 days and he was getting worse...added Zantac..no change and now we are on Neocate since yesterday. I have a few questions:
1- He has had 6 bottles of Neocate so far and he already seems to be improving! But, he is feeding more often. It seems like it doesn't fill him up for as long has the other formulas, he barely makes it to 3 hours between feedings (and he takes 4 oz per bottle same as with the others) Is this normal?
2- I find it is hard to mix. There always seem to be residu, like it never dissolves completely. Am i doing something wrong or is there always residu left?
3- It is a lot more watery than the other formulas he has had but yet it is not coming out of the nipples as well as the others? Have any of you needed to change the flow of your bottle's nipples due to the fornula not coming out properly?
I am new to all of this so any feedback/advice would be greatly appreaciated! [:)]
